When is sargassum season in Cancun?
When it comes to enjoying the beaches of Cancun, one of the biggest disadvantages of sargassum is its position. The sargassum, by positioning itself at the foot of the beaches, steals all the blue color and smell from our beaches.
The sargassum season is in the spring and summer season, that is, between April and August. Therefore, the best season to enjoy the beaches is in October and February.

The most obvious and recommendable thing would be to plan your vacations outside of the sargassum season, however, you can still enjoy the beaches during the seaweed season.
Beach maintenance services constantly clean the beaches to provide a better vacation experience. Similarly, if you stay in a hotel, rest assured that it will be free of sargassum.
So will sargassum affect my vacation?
Yes and no. It may or may not affect your experience visiting Cancun public beaches during the season.
